Enabling the blue and green economy
Our blueprint on how to become a NetZero business by 2040 is underpinned by the UN Sustainability Goals. As a business we have a clear goal to help preserve the planet and and develop solutions which reduce the impact of our operations.
We are deeply committed to preserving the surrounding environment, particularly the Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs) near our development. We are implementing stringent measures to protect these ecologically important areas, ensuring that our activities do not disturb the unique habitats and species they support.
Our approach includes careful planning, continuous environmental monitoring, and collaboration with conservation experts to maintain the integrity of these protected sites while advancing sustainable development.
Promoting renewable energy is central to our vision for a sustainable future at Hunterston PARC.
We're developing infrastructure for offshore wind and green hydrogen production, leveraging Scotland's natural resources to generate clean power and reduce carbon emissions. This commitment positions Hunterston PARC as a leader in the green energy sector, driving innovation and creating new jobs.
We advance environmental responsible oyster and salmon farming, using locally sourced resources to support clean, sustainable food production. This approach not only preserves the marine ecosystem but also contributes to the area's economic vitality, aligning with our commitment to sustainability.
As Hunterston Parc develops we will provide the infrastructure and support for occupiers to adopt and participate in our circular economy which entails, reducing waste, recycling materials and reusing resources as much as possible.
